AFN National Chief Shawn A-in-chut Atleo marched with 2,500 people in the 21st Annual Women's Memoral March in Vancouver. On May 31, 2012, the members of the UBCIC Chiefs Council joined the Musqueam Nation to march and block the Arthur Laing Bridge to protect the burials of Musqueam ancestors at the once great Musqueam village, c̓əsnaʔəm (commonly known as the Marpole Midden), located in and around 1338 SW Marine Drive in Vancouver. In November 2011, the UBCIC Executive supported the Tsilhqot'in National Government as they appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia which granted a 90-day injunction against Taseko's exploration drilling.
